The American Morgan Horse Association(AMHA) has sent to the race, awards to be given to the high point Morgan of our event, for each day of the ride.

One of the big obstacles that we are all facing at this time is the price of fuel. With our participants coming from as far away as New York and California, it is imperative that we do as much as possible to assist them. One such way is with good quality hay and especially grass hay. We would like to reach out to communities along the way to provide hay at our stops. This could possibly allow someone to assist another rider in transportation because space might be available for another horse instead of hay.

Since it appears that we are going to have a video production made of the Great Santa Fe Trail Horse Race Endurance Ride, sponsors are stepping forward for our event. These sponsors want teams that will promote them and their products. Any rider who might have interest should email us at sfthorserace@aol.com. Maybe this isn’t a way to save gas, but getting someone to pay part of the expenses would help also.
