Fort Union Pioneer Ride
Sanctioned by AERC and AHA
This ride will be conducted in conjunction with the Great Santa Fe Trail Horse Race Endurance Ride.
We do not allow riders to join the Great Santa Fe Trail Horse Race Endurance Ride in progress because of fairness and safety.
The cost of the pioneer ride is $75.00 per day.
Due to the fact that this ride is part of the Great Santa Fe Trail Horse Race Endurance Ride, we cannot take last minute entries. All entries must be made by August 15, 2008. A deposit of $25.00 is required at time of entry and the balance is due on August 30, 2008 at the ride. There will be a limit of 50 riders allowed to enter the pioneer ride.
The Fort Union Pioneer Ride is a three day point-to-point ride from Wagon Mound, New Mexico to Clayton, New Mexico. Please see our web site, www.sfthorserace.com for more details. The Fort Union Pioneer Ride is the following rides combined, The Wagon Mound Ride, the Pasamonte Ride, and the Chief Rabbit Ear Ride.
Riders wishing to ride only one day may ride the Wagon Mound Ride and the entry fee is $75.00. This entry must be made by August 15, 2008 with a $25.00 deposit. Only 20 riders will be allowed in this category.
The Kaw Nation Ride ~ September 13, 2008
AERC and AHA Sanctioned
On September 13, 2008, we have sanctioned a 25 mile limited distance ride to take place in conjunction with the Great Santa Fe Trail Horse Race Endurance Ride. This 25 mile ride has a separate sanctioning and is known as The Kaw Nation Ride. Please see our web site, www.sfthorserace.com for more details.
The following applies to all rides the Great Santa Fe Trail Horse Race Endurance Ride puts on in 2008:
Junior riders riding with a sponsor are eligible to ride with no charge, but both riders must be AERC members, or pay the additional $15.00 per rider AERC day fee.
